Autumn Plant Sale

Hello Gardeners

Our amazing garden volunteers have been hard at work getting ready for the garden’s Autumn Plant Sale on Sunday 30th April. With only a couple of days to go we’ve got all our fingers crossed that the weather will be dryer than our Spring Open Day, at the moment it’s looking good.

Here is some of what you can expect on the day.

Plants Galore

After plenty of TLC by our hard-working volunteers, we have lots of healthy seedlings and plants ready for their new home

Our greenhouse and outdoor nursery are overflowing with vegetable, herb and ornamental plants in readiness for our Autumn plant sale.

With the recent rain and some warmth still around, now is a good time to get planting.

Garden Tour - 11am at garden

Want to learn more about the design of our garden? Interested in starting your own community garden or home edible garden?

Join us for the plant sale and a guided tour with our in-house designer and current chairperson, Beau from Barefoot Creative

We’ll discuss a bit about the history of our site, the various design stages, which plants we’ve propagated from and you might even get to try some produce along the way!

Crafts for Sale

Crafts for sale on Sunday 30th April as part of our Plant Sale

The following crafts have all been created and donated by members of our garden community.

Wooden birdhouses, ready to be decorated - see example at the North Brighton Community Garden

Painted pots, ready for a plant

Handmade cards, with beautiful photos of garden and local Adelaide scenes - perfect for Mothers Day or any occasion

Painted Rocks - A fresh batch of painted rocks will be hidden in the garden on Sunday. If you find one, you can choose to keep it or hide for someone else to find

Mosaic China

We have a few boxes of broken Turkish china to give away. They were originally gifted to the garden to use in mosaics, they are now surplus to our needs.

If you can make use of the broken china, come along to our plant sale on Sunday 30th April with your own container to take some home.

Sausage Sizzle

We are doing a simple sausage sizzle, only $2 for a sausage, bread & sauce.

Perfect to enjoy while touring the garden or buying some plants.

Garden Produce Tasting

Want to try a cucamelon or wondered what a tamarillo tastes like?

We’ll have a garden produce table at the plant sale, where you can taste different garden produce and maybe take some home.
